The purpose of physical therapy is the promotion of optimal health and function through examination, evaluation and intervention to address problems in body structures and function, activity limitations, participation restrictions or environmental barriers as related to movement and health.

Physical therapists treat patients by referral from physicians or other healthcare providers. If you have an Adventist Health policy or are self-pay, you have direct access to physical therapy without a doctor's referral.
