When stroke symptoms begin, every second counts. Starting appropriate treatment immediately can help to prevent the devastating effects of this disease that is the third leading cause of death and the leading cause of adult disability in the United States.

Adventist Health Tillamook is a member of the OHSU Telestroke program, which allows Portland-based neurologists to diagnose and treat stroke patients as soon as they arrive in our emergency room. Using two-way video cameras over a secure internet connection, these neurologists review patient information and consult with patients, family members and clinicians to determine the best course of treatment.

OHSU’s stroke center is DNV-certified with comprehensive expertise to treat complex strokes and includes neurologists, neurosurgeons, neurointerventionalists, radiologists, nurses and therapists who work to quickly diagnose patients. They use the most technically advanced methods to remove clots, repair broken arteries that cause strokes and restore blood flow to the brain.
