People in the U.S. are starting to better understand the importance of mental health. Mental health has often been overlooked or so badly stigmatized people who could benefit from treatment do not even consider it.

There is no shame in seeking mental health services. The mind is a powerful thing, and feeling chronically depressed, anxious, paranoid or stressed will wreak havoc on your body and spirit as well as your mind.

Adventist Health Castle operates a 29-bed inpatient Behavioral Health Services unit. Patients receive services for the full-range of psychiatric disorders, including anxiety and depressive and psychotic disorders.

What are mental health services?

So many circumstances govern the way our minds work. Childhood traumas, stresses from everyday life and daily fears all remain engrained in our minds and influence the way we see ourselves and interact with others. When you have a mental health disorder, you may feel there is no one to talk to and you are all alone in the world.

Adventist Health Castle’s mental health team is here to tell you what you are going through is not unique and you are not alone. Others have struggled with similar thoughts and found help through counseling.

You may be skeptical of mental health services, but the chance to feel better makes it worth finding out if we can help. And remember: You are free to quit treatment any time you wish.

Please seek mental health services if you ever experience:

  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Lack of interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Panic attacks
  • Hallucinations
  • Frequent thoughts of death or tragedy
  • Loss of appetite and/or unexplained stomach pains
  • Frequent feelings of isolation and loneliness
