Kailua Cardiac Cath Lab

Cardiovascular diagnostics and treatments at Adventist Health Castle

Our cardiac and vascular state-of-the-art catheterization labs are available with diagnostic imaging equipment used to visualize the arteries and chambers of the heart, as well as the body’s blood vessels, and to treat narrowing or other abnormality needing attention.

With more than 800 square feet of space, our cardiac cath lab is a true hybrid room, which means we have the ability to perform surgery immediately if the need should arise.

Our cardiac cath lab provides outpatient services from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is on call 24 hours a day for admitted patients and emergency cases.

Our services

  • Percutaneous coronary intervention: Also called an angioplasty, this is the opening of a narrow or blocked artery of the heart
  • Pacemaker insertion: The placement of a device into your chest or abdomen to help control abnormal heart rhythms
  • Opening of chronic total occlusion: The opening of a blockage in the heart or extremities that is chronic and no operable.
  • Placement of artificial implantable cardioverter defibrillator (AICD): This is a device that recognizes fatal arrhythmias in the heart and sends off defibrillation shocks and paces the heart when it beats too slowly
