Mark Mitchelson, Patient Care Executive, brings a wealth of experience and expertise in nursing leadership to Adventist Health Simi Valley. Mark's career began at Sutter Medical Center, where his dedication and strong work ethic led him up the nursing leadership ladder. His impactful contributions extend from Critical Care Director at Kaiser Sacramento Medical Center to the Shasta Regional Medical Center, where he served as Chief Nursing Officer. Notably, Mark's adaptability and leadership were showcased internationally as the Chief Nursing Officer at Al Qadi Specialty Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

Joining Adventist Health Simi Valley in September 2023, Mark undertakes the pivotal role of overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring optimal patient care, safety and an exceptional patient experience 24/7. As a member of the executive leadership team, he spearheads strategic initiatives, focusing quality improvement and employee engagement across care settings. Through his visionary leadership championing a patient-centered environment, Mark is an invaluable asset to our hospital family, securing the highest standards of nursing care for our community.

Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of San Francisco and acquired an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. He and his wife Christen have 3 children. He enjoys hiking, reading and traveling the world with his family for Irish dance competitions.
