Robotic Surgery

You don’t have to travel great distances to benefit from leading care methods. Adventist Health offers the resources and expertise of a large health system, including robotic surgery, close to home.

Our experience from performing a high volume of procedures helps more patients achieve their care goals.

Expert surgical services

Our team includes nationally recognized leaders in minimally invasive surgery. All surgeons performing robotic training receive additional training in these procedures.

We offer a level of care that makes robotic surgery safe for patients with complex medical histories. Our relentless focus on quality gives all patients the best chances for good results. Patients typically go home sooner and recover quickly.

How robotic surgery works

Surgeons use a 3D camera and tiny instruments attached to robotic arms. The surgeon controls the arms’ every move.

To access the surgical area, our experts slide the camera and instruments through small incisions. The camera provides 3D, high-definition images while the surgeon uses the computer to carry out the procedure.

Benefits of robotic surgery

There are many benefits to robotic surgery, including:

  • Greater precision: The robotic technology moves instruments in ways that are not possible with the human hand. And the surgical technology enables a high degree of precision, even in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Gentler care: Instruments fit through small incisions, so surgeons don’t need to push as much tissue out of the way. And with less tissue disruption, you experience less pain after surgery.
  • Shorter operations: Adventist Health’s experienced surgeons carry out robotic surgery efficiently. This means you spend less time under anesthesia which makes recovery easier.
