Ways to Give
Contributions to Adventist Health Tillamook can be made in many ways. And it's always a good idea to check with your financial or legal advisor to determine which gifts are right for your situation.
Check & Credit Card
These gifts are the most common and convenient way to give. If you wish to designate the use of your gift, you may enclose a brief note to send with your check.
To make a gift by credit card, click here to donate online or call us at (503) 815-2302. To help safe-guard your credit card information, handwritten credit card gifts can no longer be accepted.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is an account managed by a third party such as a community foundation or charitable brokerage firm (Fidelity, Schwab, etc.) that holds charitable funds contributed by the donor. The donor then has the power to advise which charitable cause(s) they would like their account funds to benefit.

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes.
If you have a donor advised fund, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to this nonprofit directly from your DAF (as long as your DAF's sponsoring organization is participating).
Appreciated Securities
A gift of appreciated securities such as stocks, mutual funds, and bonds can be a very tax-wise gift. Our Foundation office can provide you with information about the best way to make a gift of securities.
Bequests & Estate Plans
A gift through your estate can leave a significant legacy of your caring to Adventist Health Tillamook. Here are three ways to make an estate gift:
- Specific bequest for a specified dollar amount, piece of property, or a stated percentage of the estate.
- Residuary bequest for all or a stated percentage of an estate after distribution of specific bequests and payment of debts, taxes or expenses.
- Contingent bequest for a portion or all of the estate under certain specified circumstances.
Life Insurance
You may make a gift of an existing paid life insurance policy. You may also name the medical center as a beneficiary of an existing policy. Financial and legal professionals can advise you how to use life insurance to provide tax-wise gifts for family and friends in your estate plan while directing other gifts to support health programs and services.
Retirement Plans
The easiest way to make a gift from your retirement account is to name Adventist Health Tillamook as a beneficiary or a contingent beneficiary (in case the first beneficiary listed predeceases you). Our Foundation office or your financial advisor can suggest some tax-wise ways through which to provide money for your heirs while directing 401-K or IRA tax-burdened funds to a nonprofit such as the medical center.
Charitable Annuities & Trusts
Charitable annuities are gifts that provide a solid investment in the medical center’s future while providing the donor with a guaranteed fixed payment for life. Charitable trusts are another type of gift that provides support for the medical center as well as providing income to other beneficiaries. Our Foundation office can provide you with more information and refer you to professionals who can help you make these gifts.
Tribute Gifts
- Celebrate a life passage or achievement
- Memorialize a loved one who has been a vital part of your life
- Rejoice in the birth of a new life
- Honor a special physician or other caregiver
- Memorial and tribute gifts allow you to thoughtfully remember family members and friends who have been a special part of your life
An acknowledgement of your gift is sent to the person or family you are remembering, notifying them of your kind contribution without specifying the amount. You will also receive an acknowledgment with our thanks separately.
