Savi Breast Brachytherapy

An advanced breast cancer treatment option

Adventist Health Glendale offers a state-of-the-art kind of radiation therapy for women with breast cancer. The SAVI breast brachytherapy applicator allows more women to choose a faster course of radiation therapy following lumpectomy surgery.

Adventist Health Glendale was one of the first facilities in California to offer this simple, five-day course of therapy for women with early-stage breast cancer.

Breast brachytherapy targets the tumor site from inside the breast. Brachytherapy typically involves two treatments per day for only five days. This shorter timeframe is far more convenient than traditional whole-breast irradiation, which lasts six or seven weeks.

Unlike other brachytherapy devices, SAVI uses multiple catheters to precisely deliver radiation where it is needed most. In addition to sparing more healthy tissue from unnecessary radiation, SAVI is the only device that cusomizes the radiation dose specifically to your individual anatomy. This enables our physicians to provide more customized therapy for you.
