How SILS™ Works
Instead of the multiple incisions associated with traditional laparoscopic surgery, the SILS™ technique is accomplished through the belly button using only one incision. Not only does this technique potentially reduce scar visibility, it may also eliminate the pain associated with multiple points of entry required by standard laparoscopic surgery. Additionally, recovery time may be shortened compared to traditional open surgery.
