Financial Services
Insured Patients
Adventist Health accepts and bills most insurance companies as a courtesy to patients. Your insurer is under contract with you and your employer. Each insurance policy varies. It is your responsibility to understand the terms and conditions of your insurance coverage. All patients are encouraged to call their insurance companies to obtain accurate information about individual benefits and any pre-certification or authorizations needed for services.
Your insurer may require written or telephonic pre-certification or pre-authorization from you or your physician. Receiving appropriate authorization does not guarantee payment if you have already used your benefit level within the timeframe specified by your insurance company, or if the service is not a covered benefit within your plan.
If your insurance company does not make payment, the bill may ultimately be your responsibility. Contact patient financial service immediately if your insurance information is incorrect.
Uninsured Patients
If you are not covered by insurance, please contact patient financial services to discuss resolution of your accounts. Payment in full is requested. The medical center accepts MasterCard, Visa and Discover Cards. Prompt payment reduces AHFR's operating expenses and allows us to offer the best medical care at the lowest possible cost. Payment arrangements and financial assistance are available for qualifying patients.
Your Hospital Bill
Your bill includes charges for goods and services rendered by the medical center and ordered by your physician. Your attending physician, anesthesiologist, radiologist, pathologist and other physicians involved in your care will bill you separately for their services. Each visit to is billed individually. An itemized bill is available upon request.
You may contact our patient financial services department with any question or concerns about your bill.
