Whitney Bower is a physical therapist at Bones Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Whitney grew up in Butte, Montana, and following her love of kinesiology and sports, earned her undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California, and graduate degree in physical therapy from the University of the Pacific in Stockton. Whitney has been with Sonora Regional Medical Center since 1998 and in addition to working in the outpatient clinics, she has also worked in home health, providing physical therapy for patients in their homes.

Whitney has one particular patient who has given her lots of pride. The patient had lost both legs in an accident. Whitney was able to help the patient regain mobility and independence and he was eventually able to return to fulltime work. “It is so satisfying to help patients achieve their goals and to see the smiles on their faces when they return to their normal lives,” explains Whitney.

When Whitney isn’t busy helping her patients get back to their favorite activities, she enjoys spending time outdoors. Her favorite activities are skiing and fly fishing but she also enjoys hiking, camping, cycling and kayaking.
