Adventist Health strives to provide the highest standard of care. However, many anesthesiologists, cardiologists, dentists, dermatologists, emergency physicians, endocrinologists, epidemiologists, gastroenterologists, hospitalists, nephrologists, pathologists, radiologists, surgeons, and other physicians of any kind are NOT employees of the hospital. Further, some nurse practitioners and physician assistants are also NOT employees of the hospital. The foregoing medical professionals have been granted the privilege of using the hospital for the care and treatment of their patients. They may bill separately for their services. A patient of the hospital is under the care and supervision of his or her attending physician.
