WWGH to Host Spiritual Care Symposium on Gratitude

Spiritual Care

Walla Walla General Hospital will host the Annual Spiritual Care Symposium on Friday, Jan. 27, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. This year’s event will focus on “Gratitude: An Essential Foundation for Spiritual Well-Being” and will feature Philip Watkins PhD.

In this symposium, Phil will be explaining the current science of gratitude, and will show how gratitude is one of the most important virtues for living well. Building on this foundation, he will show how gratitude exercises can be incorporated into a practice of spiritual care, and will show how they will contribute to well-being. Finally, he will show the significance of gratitude toward God, and how recent research has shown that this is important to spiritual well-being.

The symposium meets criteria for continuing education. It will be held in the WWGH Auditorium, at 1025 S. Second Ave., in Walla Walla.
