Reedley's First Baby of 2016

Childbirth

REEDLEY – Olivia, of Kingsburg, was making tamales with her family on Dec. 31, 2015, when she received the second surprise of her pregnancy.

Her daughter, who wasn’t supposed to arrive until Jan. 4, 2016, decided to ring in the New Year with mom and dad at 1:53 a.m. on January 1, 2016.

Nevaeh, which is “Heaven” spelled backwards, was the first baby of the year born at Adventist Medical Center – Reedley’s Family Birth Center.

Nevaeh was a surprise pregnancy for Olivia and her husband, who now have 8 children; 5 girls and 3 boys.

“I guess she was just meant to be here,” says Olivia.

Nevaeh weighed 7 pounds, and measured 18 ½ inches in length.
