Free Health Care Clinic in Southeast Portland Friday and Sunday, Aug. 26 and 28
Impact Your Health PDX will hold a two-day, free health care clinic this Friday and Sunday in Southeast Portland to provide much needed care to people with limited or no access to health care. Free medical, dental and vision services will be provided for Portland’s homeless and low-income populations on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The August 26 and 28 clinics will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Portland Adventist Academy Gym, 1500 SE 96th Ave., Portland.
“One of the things we’re most excited about is the number of dentists and optometrists who are generously volunteering their time to support our community members and help improve their health,” said Dr. Ted Mackett, a surgeon at Adventist Medical Center and chair of the Impact Your Health steering committee. “Even though more people have medical insurance these days, many still don’t have dental and vision coverage. This clinic will provide high-quality care to people and families in Portland who need our help the most, so they can get glasses, have a dental cleaning, or take care of a cavity.”
Impact Your Health PDX is supported by Adventist Medical Evangelism Network (AMEN), Adventist Health and community churches and groups.
Medical services include:
- Hypertension and diabetes screenings
- Illness diagnosis and referrals
- Education and lifestyle counseling
Dental services include:
- Fillings
- Extractions
- Cleanings
- Restorations
Vision services include:
- Comprehensive eye exams
- Free prescription glasses
