General Surgeon Joins Adventist Health Physicians Network


Dr. Sohail Mamdani, an experienced general surgeon, has joined Adventist Health Physicians Network and will be caring for patients at the Hanford Medical Pavilion and at Adventist Health / Community Care – Hanford Specialty.

Dr. Mamdani grew up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and moved to Miami, Fla., when he was in high school. He attended Florida International University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and graduated from Nova Southeastern University as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York, and received fellowship training in bariatric surgery at UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Before moving to the Central Valley, Dr. Mamdani spent two years in Middletown, New York at his own private practice.

Procedures he specializes in include general surgery, laparoscopic appendectomy and cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, biopsies, colon procedures and mass removal.

“Every day in the operating room is a different experience, a different patient and a different feeling,” says Dr. Mamdani.

When he’s not caring for patients, he enjoys fitness activities, rooting for the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat and spending time with his wife and newborn daughter.
