Rideout Memorial Hospital Meets All Conditions of Full Validation Survey, System Improvement Agreement Now Completed

Rideout Press Releases

Hospital’s transformational accomplishment a major milestone for healthcare access and quality in the community

July 6, 2015 – MARYSVILLE, CA – The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has determined that Rideout Memorial Hospital now meets the Medicare Conditions of Participation for a provider of hospital services.

The full validation survey conducted by CDPH determined that Rideout Memorial Hospital demonstrated compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and provides the basis for the determination of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The System Improvement Agreement (SIA) with CMS is now completed.

Rideout’s successful completion of the CMS validation survey is a milestone moment for the whole community, and the culmination of a long journey of transformation for the organization. “Step by step, each member of the Rideout family has done – and continues to do – the hard work needed to improve our quality, restore our compliance, and build a sustainable future,” said Robert Chason, Rideout’s Interim CEO.

Rideout’s successful completion of the full validation survey is just one of a slew of major accomplishments for the hospital in recent months.

Rideout’s new, expanded Emergency Room recently opened its doors, reducing wait times and providing top quality emergency care to our community. In addition, the organization’s Joint Commission accreditation – recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality and commitment to meeting established hospital performance standards and best practices – was confirmed last month. Rideout has also raised staff wages and stabilized its workforce by adding hundreds of employees and reducing the number of traveling nurses.

The organization has several significant initiatives already planned for the remainder of the year, including a Facilities Master Plan as well as regional partnerships that will continue to propel Rideout forward in quality and capability. And last, the completion of Rideout’s 220,000 square-foot campus expansion will mark another major milestone for the organization.

“Today’s announcement is a tremendous accomplishment for Rideout, but it’s only one part of our ongoing commitment to continually elevate the level of care we proudly provide to our community,” explained Mr. Chason.
