Adventist Health Offers Spiritual Care Classes

Classes and Support Groups

HANFORD – Community members wanting to learn how to provide spiritual support to those in need can now do so with training through Stephen Ministry, an internationally known ministry.

Adventist Health is offering training sessions in Hanford from Jan. 12 through May 3, 2016, at 6 p.m. and on Saturday mornings in March.

Training topics include:

  • The art of listening
  • Personal spiritual development
  • Distinctive Christian care-giving
  • Boundaries in care-giving
  • Ministry to those dealing with grief, depression or suicidal thoughts
  • The importance of confidentiality

Training is a 50-hour commitment with a cost of $50 for books and supplies.

Classes are co-sponsored by local churches throughout the community and Adventist Health / Central Valley Network.
