Caring for Young Community Care Patients


HANFORD – A pediatrician with Valley Children’s Medical Group is caring for patients at Adventist Health / Community Care – Hanford Primary.

Dr. Isam Dafdony began practicing medicine in 1992, in his hometown of Baghdad, Iraq. He says his pediatrician influenced him to specialize in this field because he was impressed by his kindness and understanding nature.

“He made me feel relaxed,” says Dr. Dafdony. “I want children to feel the same way when they visit me.”

After graduating from University of Baghdad-College of Medicine, Dr. Dafdony cared for patients in his hometown for 17 years. He then moved to the United States in 2009 to attend the pediatrics residency program at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Penn.

Dr. Dafdony has had training in pediatric cardiology and has worked with attending physicians at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.

He looks forward to working with families in the Central Valley.
