How your healthcare works
Depending on your health plan, your healthcare may involve three important parts: your health plan, your medical group, and your primary care doctor. Each plays a different role in helping you get the care you need.
Your health plan
Your health plan manages your insurance coverage. It determines which services are covered, where you can receive care, and what you may pay.
Your medical group
Your medical group brings together the doctors, specialists, hospitals, and other providers available through your health plan. It helps you find the right care and coordinate additional services when needed.
When you choose Adventist Health Care Network, you have access to participating providers and Adventist Health services covered by your health plan.
Your primary care doctor
Your primary care doctor is the physician you choose through your medical group and is often your main point of contact for care. Your doctor and care team provide routine and preventive care, answer questions, and help arrange referrals or additional services when needed.
About Adventist Health Care Network
Adventist Health Care Network serves as a medical group organized as an Independent Practice Association (IPA). It brings together participating independent physicians and access to Adventist Health services across Southern and Central California.
