Family Medicine Physician Joins Medical Staff

TULARE COUNTY – Dr. Liz Hernandez is looking forward to building relationships with families in Tulare County.

The board-certified family medicine physician cares for patients at Adventist Health / Community Care clinics in Orosi and at Dinuba West. Dr. Hernandez also provides obstetrics services, such as prenatal care and deliveries at the Adventist Health Family Birth Center in Reedley.

Dr. Hernandez was born and raised in Colombia. She’s fluent in English and Spanish, which is what attracted her to the Central Valley.

“Being a Spanish speaker, I feel I can relate to and help this population,” she says.

As a child, Dr. Hernandez was always curious about how the body worked. She chose family medicine because she enjoys caring for the entire family.

“I like the fact that I can see everybody: pregnant women, babies and children,” she says.

Dr. Hernandez received her medical training from Universidad de la Sabana in Chia, Colombia. She completed her residency training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, Texas, and became board-certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.

Before coming to the United States, Dr. Hernandez cared for patients in Colombia for two years. She also did research at University of California at San Francisco.

In her free time, Dr. Hernandez enjoys going on nature walks, biking and reading.

She may be reached at the Orosi clinic, 41696 Rd. 128, 559-528-6966; or at the Dinuba West clinic, 250 W. El Monte Way, 559-595-9890.
