Pre-Participation Sports Physicals

Event May 14, 2014 (Sonora, CA) – Sonora Regional Medical Center is providing pre-participation physical examinations for local students. Sports physical clinics for high school students from Sonora High School, Summerville High School, and Bret Harte High School will be held in May. 

The Center for Sports Medicine at Sonora Regional Medical Center will be hosting pre-participation sports physical clinics from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sierra Internal Medicine located at 900 Greenley Road. The Sonora High School boys’ clinic will be on Monday, May 19; the Sonora High School girls’ clinic on Tuesday, May 20; the Summerville High School co-ed clinic will be on Wednesday, May 21; and the Bret Harte High School co-ed clinic will be on Tuesday, May 27 at Angels Camp Family Medical Center. A nominal fee will be collected at the time of service with a portion of the proceeds going towards athletic programs at the respective high schools. This physical exam exceeds the pre-participation requirements by providing visits with multiple physician specialists including cardiology, internal medicine, orthopedics, and otolaryngology, as well as an injury prevention evaluation to identify individuals at risk of injury during the upcoming season. 

The annual sports physicals are a community service of Sonora Regional Medical Center.
