Family Medicine Physician Leads Kingsburg Clinic

KINGSBURG – A board-certified family medicine physician is leading staff at the Adventist Health / Community Care – Kingsburg clinic, which is now offering extended hours.

Dr. Farhat Khan has been with the Adventist Health / Central Valley Network for nearly three years, caring for expectant mothers in Kingsburg and Selma and delivering babies at the Family Birth Center in Reedley.

Dr. Khan was born in Pakistan, where she studied medicine at Khyber Medical College. She received her internship and residency training at UCSF-Fresno.

Dr. Khan remembers there weren’t many doctors in Pakistan who practiced women’s health, which is why she chose this specialty.

“I always wanted to help people in their difficult times,” says Dr. Khan. “Providing medical services to people gives my life a cause.”

Dr. Khan enjoys living and working in the Central Valley because the weather reminds her of home. She also appreciates the access to local fruits and vegetables.

Dr. Khan is married and has an infant daughter. When she’s not working, she enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, hiking, skiing and going to the movies.

She may be reached at the Kingsburg clinic, 1251 Draper Street. The office is open Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and after lunch from 1 to 6 p.m. On Fridays, the hours are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and after lunch from 1 to 5 p.m., with extended hours on the third Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. To make an appointment, call (559) 897-6610.
