Food for Life

Known as the father of western medicine, Hippocrates once said “Let food be your medicine, and medicine be your food” definitely words of wisdom we can all live by today, words that have had an impact on Jessica Rice, RN and certified lifestyle coach.

“I try to live my life that way, eating whole foods which are known to boost the immune system and help protect against disease” said Ms. Rice. Beginning on Monday February 27, Ms. Rice will be hosting a seminar at Ukiah Valley Medical Center sharing the health principles she takes to heart with anyone who wants to learn them. “As a nurse I see people sick and suffering all the time. I know that if people knew how to eat healthier they could prevent some of their unhappiness and diseases,” shared Ms. Rice.

At the Food for Life, eight week series, participants will learn about healthy foods and recipes, techniques for reducing weight, and how to protect against disease. They will also enjoy live cooking demonstrations. Ms. Rice went on to say, “I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with others and help them improve their quality of life.”

This eight week series will be held every Monday starting February 27 through April 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Main Conference room through the central entrance of UVMC. For more information and to RSVP please call (707)-972-2325 or e-mail
