Tillamook Hospital Named Top 100 Critical Access Hospital


Tillamook County General Hospital was recently named to the list of Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in America by the National Rural Health Association. Tillamook joins six other CAHs in Oregon that achieved the highest scores on the Hospital Strength Index (™) in this first-ever comprehensive rating. Nationwide there are 1,327 CAHs.

Incorporating 56 different measures of performance, the Hospital Strength Index (™) includes a unique set of measures that rate Market Strength, Value-based Strength and Financial Strength as key pillars for benchmarking and setting new goals to meet upcoming health reform initiatives.

The Hospital Strength Index provides a comprehensive rating system which compares U.S. general acute-care hospitals across a continuum of financial, value-based and market-driven performance indicators. Ratings are based on publicly available data sources, including Medicare Cost Reports, Medicare claims data, and Hospital Compare quality reporting. Supporting analytics deliver actionable competitive intelligence.
