Marysville Street Closures Set as Construction Begins On Expansion of Rideout Regional Medical Center
Free Valet Parking at the Hospital Entrance Has Expanded Hours
Construction on the new Rideout Memorial Hospital building and expansions of Rideout Emergency Department and Rideout Cancer Center is underway, with several streets now closed to through traffic.
G Street, entered from Fifth, now stops at the hospital. Fourth Street will be permanently closed between F and G Streets, and between G and H is now a driveway to parking areas.
Parking areas have been realigned to keep staff and visitors safely away from construction zones, but without limiting access to the Hospital or the Emergency Department. Parking in front of the hospital entrances, including plentiful handicapped spaces, are designated only for patients and visitors. Staff parking lots have been upgraded with enhanced lighting and security
Free valet parking is available for all patients and visitors at the main entrance, which can be reached on 4th Street via G or H Street. Hours for the service have been expanded to 8 pm daily. Hospital officials stress that there is no tipping required
The large parking lot for Marysville Immediate Care, now open 24/7, and for the medical building at 414 G St., remains accessible from both G and H Streets. Likewise, parking for the Cancer Center, at Fifth between F and G Streets, is unaffected.
Construction on the new hospital building is slated to be completed in December 2014. The expanded Emergency Department will be completed in fall 2013. The Cancer Center construction, doubling its size, will be completed in the fall of next year.
