SJCH Presets the 2nd Annual Sacred Work Sabbath

Event Local churches, organizations and community members are invited to join with the San Joaquin Community Hospital (SJCH) family for a special day of worship, testimony and fellowship known as “Sacred Work Sabbath.”

The Sacred Work Sabbath will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Rabobank Theater. The program will feature a dynamic blend of speakers, video presentations and musical performances. Last year’s debut Sacred Work Sabbath was part of SJCH’s 100-year anniversary celebration. Because it was so well received by the community, the hospital – an Adventist Christian facility – decided to make it an annual event.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone together for a special day of group worship,” said Jarrod McNaughton, SJCH’s vice president of marketing and business development. “Everyone was so inspired by last year’s gathering that we simply had to host another one.”

The featured speaker for the church program will be Mark Finley, assistant to the president for the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and former speaker for the popular It Is Written television program. Musical guests will be Kelly Mowrer, Charles Haugabrooks, Jennifer LaMountain, and SJCH’s own Jarrod McNaughton and Sandy Johnson.

With all 14 local Seventh-day Adventist churches closing their doors for the day, estimated attendance is expected to be 2,000-3,000. There will also be an evening concert at 7 p.m. For more information on this free community event, call (661) 869-6562.
