Healthy Heart Tennis Tournament to Feature Celebrity Speakers

Tournament Benefits the St. Helena Hospital Heart and Vascular Center

April 21, 2011 (St. Helena, California) – St. Helena Hospital will hold its first Healthy Heart Tennis Tournament at Meadowood Napa Valley on Sunday, May 1 and Monday, May 2. The event dinner will be at The Napa Valley Reserve on Sunday evening, May 1. Featured celebrity speakers include Ronnie Lott, Carmen Policy and Nancy Baty. Proceeds will benefit the St. Helena Hospital Heart and Vascular Center.

“St. Helena Hospital’s Cardiovascular Center operates one of the busiest cardiac programs in the region,” said Dr. Andreas Sakopoulos, a Cardiothoracic Surgeon.  “Expanded and updated facilities are a must to keep pace with the growing number of patients who come to the hospital for treatment.”

All three speakers are well-known within the sports world. NFL legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Ronnie Lott is best known for his 10 year career with the San Francisco 49ers where he helped them earn 8 division titles and 4 Super Bowl victories. After a successful career as a trial attorney, Policy joined the San Francisco 49ers playing a key role in all five of their Super Bowl victories and helped establish them as one of sports’ most preeminent franchises. An official with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), Baty also acts as linesperson and chair umpire for pro matches

The event is generously underwritten by ARIL vineyards and winery. The $1,000 tennis fee per player includes four doubles Round Robin tournaments, tennis clinics and a dinner ticket at The Napa Valley Reserve. Tickets for dinner only may be purchased for $500 per person. "Space is limited and dinner is nearly sold out, so interested parties should act soon," says Fred Miller, the tournament co-chair.
