Diagnostic imaging provides all types of medical imaging to aid in your diagnosis, treatment and preventative care. The main hospital imaging department provides state-of-the-art technology to provide:
- Diagnostic radiography (X-ray)
- Fluoroscopy
- Nuclear medicine
- Ultrasound
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Computerized tomography (CT)
The images we capture are interpreted by radiologists. These medical doctors who specialize in diagnostic imaging hold advance training and certification in general radiology and specialty areas, including interventional radiology, musculoskeletal imaging and cross-sectional imaging (CT and MRI).
In addition, the Adventist Health White Memorial imaging department provides women's imaging, including:
- Breast imaging
- Osteoporosis scanning (bone density, or DEXA)
- Breast ultrasound
- PET-CT (a fusion or combined imaging using both CT and nuclear medicine for specific cancer and heart conditions)
We also use medical informatics (computerized processing, storage and viewing) to ensure timely and accurate interpretation and reporting of studies.
