We are always there in your time of crisis. Our emergency rooms are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and emergency care nurses. Our ER staff provides quick and efficient access to care for you or your family members.
In addition to providing care for adults we have partnered with UC Davis Health to care for your little ones.

Is the emergency room safe?
Our hospitals are safe, operational and prepared to handle health emergencies as well as coronavirus cases. Adventist Health isolates suspected COVID-19 patients to keep our other patients and healthcare professionals safe.
We are confident we can effectively care for an infected patient with little risk to our other patients, and Adventist Health closely follows CDC protocols and works with local public health departments to ensure our hospitals and clinics are safe and ready when emergencies happen.
Don’t delay your care
During this time of uncertainty, many are apprehensive to visit a hospital and don’t want to overwhelm healthcare resources. But don’t delay care when something urgent comes up—we have the resources we need and are prepared and available to care for you and your family.

How to navigate an ER visit during COVID-19
The team at Adventist Health Lodi Memorial is here for you. To ensure your safety we have changed the way patients access the Emergency Department. If you have a life-threatening illness, please call 9-1-1. For all other reasons please drive up to the entrance on Fairmont Ave. Be sure to wear a mask and remain in your vehicle. Medical caregivers will screen you in your vehicle and guide you to the appropriate care setting for your condition.
COVID-19 testing
Adventist Health Lodi Memorial is not a free COVID-19 testing site. We do administer the COVID-19 test through our Emergency Department (ED); however, it is considered an ED visit and will be billed accordingly.
If you are having symptoms of COVID-19 and would still like to be seen knowing that your visit will be treated as a regular ED visit, please proceed to our Emergency Department for medical care and be prepared to show your ID and insurance card.
If you’re looking to be tested for free without having to go through our ED process or obtaining a doctor’s order, San Joaquin County offers free COVID-19 testing, by appointment, through the following programs:

- Near San Joaquin General Hospital, just off Interstate 5
- Appointments made online at ProjectBaseline.com

When should I go to the emergency room?
Go to the emergency room for problems that can’t wait, such as:
- Signs of a stroke
- Chest pain
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe bleeding or trauma
- Loss of consciousness
- Loss of or blurred vision
- High, uncontrolled fever
- Head injuries
- Burns
- Severe abdominal pain
- Broken bones
When should I go to urgent care?
Visit an urgent care for urgent problems that aren’t life-threatening but still need attention, such as:
- Coughs, colds and sore throat
- Sprains and strains
- Rashes or skin irritations like sunburn
- Minor burn
- Ear infections and sinus infections
- Minor cuts and lacerations
When should I use virtual visits?
Specialties offering virtual visits vary by location. Check with your doctor to find out if virtual visits are available.

If you are not sure which location is best suited for your condition and you are experiencing an emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you are home and experiencing coronavirus-like symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) and have been in contact with someone who likely has an active coronavirus infection, we encourage you to call your primary care physician or clinic before arriving.
If clinically necessary, your primary care physician or clinic will give you instruction on how to get tested in order to limit the risk of exposure to other people.
