Meeting your spiritual needs

In the spirit of compassion — what we call Sacred Work — our goal at Adventist Health Bakersfield is to help meet your spiritual needs in a way that is most comfortable for you. We are here to serve you, whether you need prayer, a Bible or another sacred book to help process thoughts during times of confusion, anxiety, depression or sadness. We are here to assist in your decision-making process or simply to give you someone to talk to.

Adventist Health is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Providing comprehensive care to our patients is essential to our mission. Our goal is to create a comfortable and healing environment for you and your family.

Adventist Health Bakersfield’s chapel is located on the first floor of the medical center between the main lobby and elevators. The chapel is used on a first-come, first-serve basis and may be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our medical center is staffed by a team of certified hospital chaplains. The chaplain's office is located on the first floor of the medical center, next to the chapel.

You may contact a chaplain during normal business hours at (661) 869-6629 or (661) 869-6625. If you are in need of a chaplain after hours, call the medical center operator at (661) 395-3000. The operator will page the chaplain on call.
