Cancer Support Team

You're not alone with your cancer

When you come to us for cancer care, you won't be alone. Instead, you'll have an entire team devoted to your treatment and recovery.

This group of caring cancer specialists will help you during every step of your cancer journey — diagnosis , treatment, paperwork, side effects and more. We want to make a positive difference so you can focus on the most important thing of all: your healing.

Working with your doctor to fight your cancer

When you have cancer, your oncologist does a lot of the heavy lifting. This is the person who plans your treatments, dispenses vital medications and orders key tests. The AIS Cancer Center’s team of doctors includes:

Your personal support team

You have work to do too, including managing your appointments, handling your cancer paperwork and addressing your cancer side effects. That work is vital — but it can be hard to handle when you're living with cancer.

We can help. When you come to the Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center for care, you'll have an entire team of cancer support staff that will work hard to smooth your journey from diagnosis to recovery.

Key treatment for cancer, without the hassle

Every therapy comes with an appointment — and every therapy comes with an insurance billing and payment. When you're fighting cancer, you may not have the energy to handle those details.

Your patient service coordinator can schedule your appointments, coordinate your referrals and maximize your insurance benefits. This person will handle all of the pesky details and paperwork so you can focus on healing.

You will also have access to a nurse navigator. If you have questions about how your treatments work or you need help understanding your cancer treatment options, your cancer nurse can help. Your nurse can also help you handle admissions, referrals and other clinical documents; understand when you need help with cancer side effects; and refer you to other AIS Cancer Center resources that can help.

Support for the whole you

Paperwork is just one of the cancer details you'll need to attend to. You may also have side effects and emotional needs to handle — and when you come to The AIS Cancer Center, you won't have to handle them alone.

You'll have access experts in nutrition and pain management to help you stay strong and comfortable during your cancer treatment. We will also connect you to a cancer support group, and you can explore art therapy and MediYoga to help ease your discomfort — body, mind and spirit.

Your cancer social worker is available to talk about your concerns and help your family and friends understand what you need. Our chaplain offers spiritual support through private meetings as well as our weekly prayer services held right in the hospital lobby.
As a faith-based hospital, we also believe in the power of spontaneous prayer. If you'd like someone to pray with you or for you, that support is always available. Just ask.
