Beacon Award for Excellence​

beacon logoIn 2016, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) awarded a bronze-level Beacon Award for Excellence to the intensive care unit at Lodi Memorial. The award recognizes unit caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACN’s Healthy Work Environment Standards.

‘Top Performer on Key Quality Measures’ Recognition from The Joint Commission (2014)

top performer Lodi Health was the only hospital in San Joaquin County to be recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2015 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measures performance for heart attacks, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and perinatal care.

Highest rate of exclusive breastfeeding in county (2014)

WIC associationLodi Memorial Hospital had the highest rate of exclusive breastfeeding by new mothers of any hospital in San Joaquin County for 2014 and has been named the highest performing hospital in the county, according to a study by the UC Davis Human Lactation Center and the California WIC Association. The study shows that 75.9 percent of new mothers were breastfeeding exclusively when they went home, compared to the county average of 63.3 percent.uc davis logo The study also compares breastfeeding done in any degree, to which Lodi Memorial Hospital ranked second with 93.8 percent of babies being breastfed at least partially.

Baby-Friendly Designation

baby friendly logoLodi Memorial Hospital has been awarded the prestigious international designation of “Baby-Friendly® Hospital” by Baby-Friendly® USA. The global initiative, sponsored by the World Health Organization and UNICEF, is designed to improve maternal and child health. After successfully completing a rigorous onsite survey, the hospital was recognized as one that offers an optimum level of care for infant feeding and mother/baby bonding.

Platinum-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite

ama platinumThe Maternal Child department at Lodi Memorial Hospital received a total score of 93 out of 100 for data submitted in 2015 for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care (mPINC) survey. The report highlights the hard work and commitment of Lodi Memorial as a birthing facility working to support best practices for breastfeeding.

Safe Sleep Certification

safe sleep certificationLodi Memorial is the first and only hospital in California to become a Gold Champion National Safe Sleep Hospital, and is one of only eight hospitals in California to become an official partner of the Cribs for Kids® National Infant Safe Sleep Initiative. These achievements ensure that Lodi Memorial and educates new parents about safe sleep practices, thus reducing rates of premature infant deaths.
