Curriculum

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Adventist Health Ukiah Hospital is designed to provide a diverse experience for pharmacist clinicians. The curriculum involves three components: core rotations, elective rotations and longitudinal projects.

Required Learning Experiences

  • Orientation (8 weeks)
  • Critical Care (6 weeks)
  • Internal Medicine (6 weeks)
  • Ambulatory Care (6 weeks)
  • Administration (6 weeks)
  • Infectious Disease/Antibiotic Stewardship (6 weeks)
  • Hospital Practice (12 months)
  • Clinical Research Project (12 months)
  • Drug Information/Medication Safety/Formulary Management (12 months)

Elective Learning Experiences

  • Emergency Medicine (6 weeks)
  • Oncology (6 weeks)
  • Teaching and Learning Certificate**

** The teaching certificate, if selected, will be incorporated into the hospital practice rotation

How to Apply

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley’s pharmacy residency program uses the PhORCAS application system through ASHP. Please submit all application materials through the applicant portal on the PhORCAS system. The deadline for receipt of a complete application packet is 1/1/2023. Applicants can begin submitting materials through PhORCAS on 11/2/2022. Complete applications include the following:

  1. Letter of intent
  2. Curriculum vitae
  3. Three letters of reference completed by health professionals who can attest to the applicant’s practice abilities and aptitudes (uploaded directly from the authors beginning on 11/2/22)
  4. Official transcripts of all professional pharmacy education
  5. The application, letter of intent, and curriculum vitae should be submitted via the PhORCAS applicant portal. Letters of reference should also be submitted via PhORCAS Reference Portal using the ASHP Reference Template no later than January 1 directly from the authors. Our National Matching Code is (NMS): 92185
