Windward Oʹahu Gains Local Rheumatology Services

For the first time, Windward Oʹahu residents will have local access to hospital and outpatient-based rheumatology services

Adventist Health Castle is proud to announce the launch of its new rheumatology service line, expanding access to specialized care for patients living with arthritis, lupus, gout, and other autoimmune conditions.

For many families, rheumatology appointments have meant months of waiting or traveling across the island. Now, patients can receive expert care close to home, supported by Hawaii’s only CMS 5-star rated hospital.

Two Windward natives return home

Leading this new program are two highly trained rheumatologists: Daniel Magliulo, MD, and Audrey M. Hagiwara, MD. Both physicians were born and raised on the Windward side and are returning to serve the community that shaped them. Their world-class training and heartfelt dedication make them a perfect fit for Castle’s mission of whole-person care.

“Living with joint pain or autoimmune conditions can be life-altering, and for many in our community, accessing specialized care means traveling long distances or waiting months for an appointment. Now the community can get the help they need close to their home. We’re especially proud to welcome Dr. Magliulo and Dr. Hagiwara, whose commitment to serving the community they grew up in, combined with their clinical excellence, means patients will be treated by experts who not only understand complex conditions, but also provide the kind of support that makes them feel seen, heard, and cared for,” says Chase Aalborg, Adventist Health Castle President.
