Eliminate out-of-pocket expenses for emergency ambulance services
Adventist Health Tillamook Ambulance offers T·E·A·M, a membership program that eliminates your out-of-pocket costs after insurance has paid for a medically necessary ambulance service. For those without medical insurance, your T·E·A·M membership will cover 20 percent of your medically necessary ambulance service. Considering the high cost of ambulance services, this program can result in significant savings and is especially valuable to those on a fixed income and/or those at a higher risk of needing emergency care.
Learn more about T·E·A·M
T·E·A·M provides emergency ambulance service to you and listed household members and legal dependents guaranteeing no additional out-of-pocket expenses when using Adventist Health Tillamook Ambulance; we accept your insurance as payment in full.
How much can I save in out-of-pocket costs?
With T·E·A·M, no matter how many medical emergencies you have, your annual out-of-pocket expense is only $60. Consider this: an average ambulance transport costs $3,000, and even with most insurance plans you pay over $600 out-of-pocket. Transport to Portland for more advanced care costs well over $5,000, of which you would be responsible for over $1,000. T·E·A·M means no ambulance costs beyond the $60 membership fee — accepting your insurance as payment in full.
Is this a wise choice if I am on a fixed income?
The T·E·A·M membership program is especially important for persons on a fixed income who otherwise might have to absorb the portion of the bill not covered by Medicare or other commercial insurance plans. Even Medicare supplemental policies and standard health insurance policies often pay only a portion of a transport bill.
What Adventist Health Tillamook Ambulance services are covered with my T·E·A·M membership?
The covered services include:
- Emergency evaluation and first aid, if not transported to Adventist Health Tillamook.
- Prehospital emergency care at the scene for treatment of injuries and illnesses.
- Ambulance transportation to the closest appropriate medical facility.
- Medically necessary or pre-approved transports from one facility to another, including those out of our service area.
- Supplies or medications used by the ambulance personnel while providing treatment.
What Adventist Health Tillamook Ambulance services are not covered by my T·E·A·M membership?
Services not covered include:
- Transportation to a physician office for routine exams.
- Transportation home from the hospital or to a residential facility if not medically necessary to go by ambulance.
- Transportation to an out of area facility based on patient choice vs. medical need.
What else does my membership fee go towards?
Your membership fee also goes toward improving the quality of care for you and everyone else in our community. That's because every dollar of your membership fee goes right back into our emergency medical services, enabling us to provide more training for paramedics and EMTs and acquire more state-of-the-art emergency medical equipment.
Is the T·E·A·M program an insurance policy?
The T·E·A·M program is not an insurance policy. It is a membership program offered by Adventist Health Tillamook Ambulance. The program reduces out-of-pocket expenses for ambulance services by accepting your insurance as payment in full.
If you do not have medical insurance, the T·E·A·M membership will pay 20 percent of the total bill. You will be responsible for the other 80 percent.
How do I access an ambulance?
Call 911 for emergency ambulance transport. The closest available ambulance will be dispatched to your location to serve you.
What if I need transportation between hospitals?
Medically necessary and pre-approved transport from one facility to another is covered by the T·E·A·M membership. For example, if you are a patient at Adventist Health Tillamook and you require medical care at a Portland-area hospital, transportation charges would be covered. On the other hand, if you simply wanted to be transported to a Portland-area hospital to be closer to your family, this would not be covered by your membership.
