Report Highlights Tillamook County Health Priorities

Adventist Health Tillamook has released the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), a comprehensive report identifying the most pressing health priorities in Tillamook County. Conducted every three years, the CHNA represents a deep collaboration among local health partners including Tillamook County Community Health Centers/Public Health, Nehalem Bay Health Center & Pharmacy, Tillamook Family Counseling Center, and Adventist Health Tillamook.

Since 2016, these partners have worked together to collect and analyze data, share community insights, and coordinate strategic efforts to improve health outcomes for residents across the county. Adventist Health provides technical support for this process through its Community Integration team, which helps align data and planning efforts with statewide and national health improvement standards.

“The 2025 CHNA is more than a snapshot of our community’s health — it’s a roadmap for action,” said Amy Lasher, Administrative Director of Community Integration for Adventist Health Public Affairs & Community Impact. “We bring together data from more than 150 public sources and authentic input from local residents to better understand and address the root causes of health inequalities.”

The report identifies four top health priorities for Tillamook County: access to care, community infrastructure, housing, and mental health. Together, these areas represent both the ongoing challenges and opportunities that shape the well-being of residents. Access to care includes ensuring timely, affordable, and coordinated health services for everyone. Community infrastructure focuses on key supports such as childcare and transportation that enable healthy living. Housing stability and quality are recognized as fundamental to long-term health. And mental health remains a central focus, encompassing emotional well-being, resilience, and connection.

“The CHNA demonstrates our shared commitment to improving community well-being by using data and collaboration to guide meaningful action,” said Michelle Jenck, Director of Well-Being at Adventist Health Tillamook. “We are deeply grateful to Tillamook County Community Health Centers, which serves as the backbone for Tillamook County Wellness, and to the many advisory committee members and partners whose dedication makes this work possible. We also thank Mari Tasche of Oregon Health & Science University for creating a new framework that strengthens our county health improvement planning process.”

The CHNA underscores the belief that lasting change happens when organizations and communities work together toward common goals. By combining research, lived experience, and coordinated planning, Tillamook County’s health partners are laying the groundwork for a healthier, more equitable future.
