Healthcare Pathway Program

Students encouraged to apply for health care experience!

Does your child have a passion to become a nurse, doctor, or another important health care team member?

Adventist Health is looking for high school students interested in a career in healthcare to participate in two cohorts.

Dr. Raul Ayala, Chief Ambulatory Officer of Adventist Health, will personally select two cohorts of 10 students to take part in the program. Each cohort will consist of a 4-week program.

During the program, students will receive:

  • Career counseling
  • Classroom education
  • Experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • And more!

"It is important to identify talented students in our own communities, so they can provide access to quality health care,” says Dr. Ayala. “Students who’ve attended the program in the past have gone on to pursue health care education and training with the goal of returning to the Central Valley to help Adventist Health live its mission of ‘Living God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope.’ I am personally looking forward to meeting individuals, this year, who are excited to help us carry out this mission.”

Applicants should be juniors or seniors in high school; or freshmen or sophomores in college.

The deadline to submit applications is April 30, 2024.
