Adventist Health Castle Earns Prestigious CMS 5-Star Rating for Third Consecutive Year

Only Hospital in Hawaii to Receive Top Rating in 2025

Adventist Health Castle has once again been recognized among the nation’s best, as a leader in healthcare quality, earning the coveted 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the third year in a row. Fewer than 10% of hospitals nationwide earned this distinction in 2025, and Adventist Health Castle is the only hospital in Hawaii to receive the top 5-star rating.

Unlike awards that can be solicited or sponsored, the CMS star rating is based solely on objective data and patient outcomes. It measures key areas such as mortality, safety of care, readmissions, patient experience, and timeliness and effectiveness of treatment. Adventist Health Castle outperformed peers with higher patient satisfaction scores, lower inpatient mortality and readmission rates, and fewer healthcare-associated infections.

“This recognition is a reflection of our team’s relentless dedication to providing top-tier care for our patients and community,” said Chase Aalborg, President of Adventist Health Castle. “Being the only hospital in Hawaii to achieve a 5-star CMS rating is a powerful testament to the exceptional quality of care we provide and the compassion our team brings to every patient interaction.”

In addition to the CMS rating, Adventist Health Castle has received numerous accolades, including Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade A, Top 100 Hospitals® by Fortune and Premier’s PINC AI™, Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience for the thirteenth consecutive year, and the Beacon Award for Excellence.
