The Community Resource Center Is Now Part of Our Foundation

We are excited to share that our Community Resource Center (CRC) has now officially become a vital part of Adventist Health White Memorial Charitable Foundation, a milestone that strengthens our mission to extend hope, healing, and support beyond hospital walls.

At the CRC, we offer health and wellness education and free resources to the community under our signature ¡Vive Bien! Program, designed to promote healthy living and physical activity.

We provide compassionate, hands-on services that touch lives daily, from bilingual enrollment assistance for Covered California, Medi-Cal, and Medicare, to referrals, wellness workshops, and senior programming.

As we begin this exciting new chapter under the foundation’s banner, we reaffirm our commitment to making healthcare more accessible for everyone in our community. And what better way to mark this inspiring evolution than by welcoming two exceptional new team members to our growing philanthropic family.

Why this integration matters

With the CRC now operating under the Adventist Health White Memorial Charitable Foundation umbrella, we’re able to tap into new resources and deepen our impact across East Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, Montebello, and beyond. We’re supporting:

  • Broader access to wellness tools like fresh produce at our farmers’ market and food vouchers
  • Social safety nets through Prema Pantry and essential item distribution
  • Education on farming and sustainability through our community garden
  • Enhanced connection to community services and social support

Meet our community champions

Daleny Galicia and Araceli Marquez are the embodiment of our foundation’s beliefs of bringing dignity, personalized guidance, and warmth to every person who walks through our doors:

Daleny Galicia

With a passionate career rooted in community-centered healthcare, Daleny brings a unique blend of compassion and expertise. She joins us with a proven dedication to uplifting communities, and amplifying unheard voices, especially those who face cultural or systemic barriers to wellness.

Araceli Marquez, MPH

Araceli’s connection to our community goes deep. As someone who grew up with immigrant parents and experienced firsthand the challenges they faced, she brings empathy, insight, and bilingual leadership to her role. Araceli helps CRC visitors find their bearings, whether that means securing insurance, navigating follow-up care after emergency unit visits, or linking to vital social services.

“We get a lot of referrals from the emergency room, and once they come through the doors of our Community Resource Center, we’re able to offer that navigation and assistance that they need.”
