Tracy Welch Promoted to Lead Chaplain

Adventist Health Tillamook announces the promotion of Tracy Welch to Lead Chaplain for their hospital and clinics. Tracy, who has been supporting their chaplaincy as a volunteer, and on-call chaplain, brings a deep commitment to providing compassionate spiritual and emotional support to patients, their families and associates.

“Tracy has done an incredible job since our recent departure of a Senior Chaplain, meeting the spiritual care needs of our patients with grace and dedication,” said Eric Swanson, President of Adventist Health Tillamook. “I look forward to working with Tracy in her new role. I can’t think of anyone better to lead our chaplaincy team.”

Tracy joined Adventist Health Tillamook as a volunteer chaplain and has been working to complete training for the role since she started in 2023. She has been instrumental in organizing impactful spiritual care events such as the Week of Spiritual Emphasis, Hope Through the Holidays, Mission Week and Serving Up Hope. In addition to her daily responsibilities providing spiritual and emotional care, Tracy plays a vital role in community outreach initiatives that embody the Adventist Health mission of inspiring health, wholeness and hope.

“We are thrilled to have Tracy in this role,” shared Chaplain Terry Johnsson, Vice President, Community and Mission Integration for the Adventist Health Oregon Service Area. “Her dedication to the mission of Adventist Health and her compassionate approach will continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and community.” Reflecting on the promotion, Tracy shares, “I am excited to deepen my connections with Adventist Health Tillamook associates and continue providing meaningful spiritual care in my new role.”
