Tiny Babies Benefit from Telemedicine Tech
Thanks to you, our generous community of friends, this spring the Family Birth Center team at Adventist Health Tillamook welcomed a second telemedicine robot, this one specifically designed for neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) services for infants in need of specialized care.
The new robot’s extended camera arm enables NICU specialists from OHSU to offer real-time guidance while looking over the Adventist Health Tillamook care team’s shoulders as they work, enhancing the precision and effectiveness of treatment for newborns in critical conditions.
“We are immensely grateful for the generosity and support that made this acquisition possible,” said Eric Swanson, President of Adventist Health Tillamook. “This is a testament to our community’s dedication to providing the best possible care for every member, no matter how small.”
Marian Johnson, Family Birth Center Nurse Manager, shared, “I’m in love with the new telemedicine robot – it’s such a game changer for our care team and for our community! Thank you for helping us enhance our care for Tillamook babies!”
This specialized NICU telemedicine technology represents a leap forward in Adventist Health Tillamook’s capabilities to serve the needs of newborns and their families. It underscores the importance of innovative solutions in meeting the healthcare challenges of today and tomorrow. Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, to all who contributed to this important cause, reaffirming our mission to live God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope in our community.
