Light Up a Life – Reading of the Names

On January 15, 2025, Adventist Health Hospice hosted the Light Up a Life remembrance event at Tillamook Creamery’s Red Barn. The event honored hospice patients and supporters by displaying their names and reading them aloud.

What makes Light Up a Life so special is the reverent, respectful manner in which deceased loved ones are honored. Many family members and friends come to this event clasping pictures and sharing fond memories of their loved ones. The event is a time of healing for all.

Caring for a parent, spouse or loved one during the last weeks of their life journey can be heartbreaking. During this difficult transition, families find strength and hope through hospice. As the hospice team of compassionate nurses, social workers and aides provides support in all aspects of caregiving, patients and families can focus on what matters most — spending time together with dignity and compassion, surrounded by loved ones and warm memories.

Unfortunately, the daily reimbursement rate from Medicare all too often does not cover the expenses of our small, rural hospice program, which serves all of Tillamook County. Even in the face of financial challenges, Adventist Health Hospice is committed to caring for our patients.

That’s where generous donations from people like you truly make a difference. Your gifts bring peace, love and comfort to those experiencing life’s final moments. Your donations, big and small, help in so many ways to strengthen hospice’s caring work.

Your contributions are such a blessing. When you give to hospice, you become one of our hospice angels. For those of you who supported hospice by joining us at Light Up a Life, and those of you who continue to support us with love and financial generosity, we thank you. We couldn’t be more grateful for you.
