Oregon Adventist Health Hospitals Earn National Recognition
All Adventist Health Hospitals in Oregon Recognized Nationally for Social Responsibility and Community Impact
All three Adventist Health hospitals in Oregon including Adventist Health Portland, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge, and Adventist Health Tillamook have been recognized in the 2025–26 Lown Institute Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility, a comprehensive national ranking of hospitals based on equity, value, and patient outcomes.
Among more than 2,700 acute care hospitals evaluated nationwide, Adventist Health Portland ranked 13th overall and was recognized as the top socially responsible acute care hospital in Oregon. The facility earned “A” grades across multiple categories, including Social Responsibility, Equity, Community Benefit, Inclusivity, Value, Avoiding Overuse, Cost Efficiency, and Clinical Outcomes. Additionally, it ranked #1 in Oregon for overall Social Responsibility, #2 in both Equity and Inclusivity, and #3 in Community Benefit.
Adventist Health Columbia Gorge also made the national Lown Institute “Honor Roll”, ranking 64th overall and earning “A” grades in the same core categories. This is the second consecutive year the hospital has earned this prestigious recognition. In Oregon, it ranked: #3 in Social Responsibility, #1 in Avoiding Overuse, and #5 in Outcomes. Adventist Health Tillamook, the only Adventist Health critical access hospital in Oregon, earned high marks as well, ranking: #5 out of 23 Oregon critical access hospitals for Social Responsibility and #3 in Community Benefit. They also received “A” grades in Equity, Community Benefit, Inclusivity, and Avoiding Overuse. These recognitions place Adventist Health facilities among the nation’s most socially responsible hospitals, reinforcing the organization’s ongoing commitment to whole-person care, equity, and accessible, high-quality services in every community served.
