Dr. Michael Halferty Named 2025 Provider of the Year
Adventist Health Tillamook has announced Michael Halferty, MD, as the 2025 Provider of the Year, an honor selected by fellow medical staff members in recognition of exceptional clinical excellence, compassion, and service to the community. This year, 20 providers were nominated by their peers, reflecting the depth of skill, dedication, and teamwork across the organization’s communities serving Tillamook County, Vernonia, and Estacada. Among these outstanding nominees, Dr. Halferty was distinguished for his unwavering commitment to patient-centered care and his steady leadership across multiple care settings.
Dr. Halferty serves as Ambulatory Medical Director and provides urgent care across rural coastal and inland communities throughout the service region. Colleagues describe him as “tireless in his commitment,” noting his flexibility, clinical expertise, and deep compassion for patients. He is widely respected for unifying teams around shared goals, coordinating care across roles, and maintaining an approachable, solutions-oriented presence in every environment. “Dr. Halferty consistently goes above and beyond to ensure patients receive exceptional care in urgent care, primary care, or through his service at the Long Prairie jail,” said Paul Welch, MD, Medical Officer for Adventist Health Tillamook. “He embodies the Adventist Health mission of inspiring health, wholeness, and hope. His kindness, communication, and commitment to doing what is right for the patient make him an extraordinary provider and colleague.”
Peers also noted Dr. Halferty’s willingness to take on additional responsibilities to support continuity and quality of care for some of the community’s most vulnerable residents. His leadership, steady presence, and readiness to stretch boundaries for the benefit of patients have made a meaningful impact across the region. Adventist Health Tillamook extends heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Halferty, along with deep appreciation for the compassion, expertise, and partnership he brings to the organization and the communities he serves.
