Cancer Care in Sonora

Adventist Health Sonora is here for you

Cancer: It's a word that brings about an immediate reaction of fear, uncertainty and helplessness — and for some, hopelessness. We want to help and to bring you hope. We want to help you live. You are not alone.

Approximately one out of every two American men and one out of every three American women will have some type of cancer at some point during their lifetime. Through prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery programs, fewer people are dying from cancer than ever before. Breakthroughs in research and technology mean that more people can beat cancer and go on living their lives with the fullness and joy they have known.

Today, Adventist Health Sonora gives you total cancer care, right here in the Sierra Foothills. Our experience, technology and caring staff is comparable to what you'll find anywhere in Northern California. And with the construction of the new Health Pavilion and Diana J. White Cancer Institute, we are bringing our same cutting-edge treatments and compassionate care in a breathtaking new building with views across the Sierra foothills.

In 2015, George White gave a generous estate gift in honor of his late wife, Diana. The gift, estimated at over $3 million, was directed to benefit the Cancer Center. At the time of his gift, White said, “I am happy to make this estate gift to the medical center in her memory because I know it will help people in our community. That would have made Diana very happy.” To honor and recognize their substantial contribution, the Cancer Center was renamed the Diana J. White Cancer Institute when it moved to its new location in the Pavilion.
