Adventist Health + Rideout Focus and Core Services Re-Alignment
Apr 15, 2024
April 15, 2024 (Marysville, Calif.) — As we navigate the same budgetary challenges that many healthcare organizations are facing across the nation this year, Adventist Health and Rideout has made the difficult decision to close its Street Nursing Program. This decision was not made lightly, but after careful consideration, we believe it's necessary to focus resources on our core services. Our aim is to ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of our community and fulfill our mission in the most impactful way possible.
We understand that this news may come as a disappointment to those who have been involved with or supported the Street Nursing Program. We want to express our sincere gratitude for all the hard work and dedication that has gone into this program and for all those who have have contributed to its achievements. Your efforts have been invaluable, and we are truly thankful for your commitment and service to this vulnerable population.
It's important to note that when the Street Nursing Program began in 2019, financial support from health plans was virtually non-existent, and we were the sole provider serving this vulnerable population. However, the landscape has evolved since then. Today, there is financial backing from various community healthcare partners, including the introduction of Partnership launched in 2024 and CalAim reimbursement. Additionally, the expansion of mobile services by our local Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) partners and the collaboration of organizations supporting the homeless population in our area give us confidence that this vital work will not only continue but thrive.
Adventist Health and Rideout is dedicated to providing quality, comprehensive care for our entire community, including our homeless and vulnerable populations. We are committed to working closely with all local partners to minimize any disruption in services for the homeless community. Our collaboration with FQHC partners will ensure that Street Nursing clients and others will still receive the necessary case management and healthcare services they need.
As we look ahead, our dedication to our mission of Living God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness, and hope remains unwavering. We believe that this decision will ultimately enable us to continue serving our community and make a positive impact on the lives of those we reach.
