Recognized for Multi-Disciplinary Quality Improvement
Aug 1, 2025
Adventist Health St. Helena has been nationally recognized by the American Heart Association for its comprehensive, data-driven commitment to advancing patient care across multiple specialties. The hospital earned the Association’s Commitment to Quality award, highlighting its leadership in clinical excellence and innovation in care delivery.
The award is presented to hospitals that demonstrate exceptional performance across three or more clinical areas in the Association’s Get With The Guidelines® programs—national quality improvement initiatives that help hospitals consistently apply the latest evidence-based treatment protocols. By participating in these programs, Adventist Health St. Helena has implemented standardized, research-backed practices that enhance outcomes and reduce complications for patients throughout the hospital.
“The passion of our dedicated team continues to attract patients from across a broad geography, and I’m proud to have these committed professionals recognized for their unwavering commitment to high-quality care and innovation in cardiovascular health,” said Steven Herber, MD, President of Adventist Health St. Helena.
Get With The Guidelines provides hospitals with access to national benchmarking, clinical decision tools, and a network for shared learning—all designed to advance care in areas including stroke, heart failure, resuscitation, and atrial fibrillation. The Commitment to Quality award recognizes hospitals that embrace this systems-level approach to quality and safety.
“This award highlights the impressive commitment Adventist Health St. Helena has made to improving care across multiple disciplines,” said Donald Lloyd-Jones, past volunteer president of the American Heart Association and current volunteer chair of the Association’s Quality Oversight Committee. “By taking a systems-level approach to quality, these hospitals are building a foundation for better outcomes, fewer complications, and stronger communities.”
With this recognition, Adventist Health St. Helena continues to reinforce its role as a trusted provider of whole-person care in the Napa Valley and beyond—delivering on its mission to improve lives through excellence, compassion, and innovation in healthcare.
