June 2024 Healthcare on the Ridge Update

Paradise Community Healing Garden moves forward

Adventist Health Feather River Health Foundation, in partnership with Paradise community members, has determined a location for Paradise’s Community Healing Garden, which will serve as a peaceful and healing sanctuary designed to promote well-being. The community’s planning committee voted to move forward with establishing the garden at Déjà vu Nursery, located at 5424 Foster Road in Paradise.

Recently, North Valley Community Foundation leadership partnered with a team of volunteers to start clearing the site on Love Paradise Day. The garden will feature tranquil spaces, sweet-smelling plants, and educational opportunities for families.

Feather River Health Foundation commits to supporting new initiatives in 2024

Following its efforts in 2023, Feather River Health Foundation has continued its efforts by pledging nearly $150,000 of support in the community to begin 2024.

This support will directly benefit several local organizations, including the Butte County Local Food Network, Boys and Girls Club of the North Valley, Paradise Arts, Theater and Cultural Hub among others. Part of the foundation’s efforts also helped fund a new DEXA machine for the Feather River Health Center, as well as a new transportation vehicle and a specialized car seat to allow end-of-life patients to lay down during transport.

Adventist Health sponsors Annual Party in the Park

Adventist Health is proud to serve as the presenting sponsor for the Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce’s Party in the Park event series for 2024. The nine-week showcase, set for every Wednesday between 5:30-8:15 p.m. from June 12 to July 31 at the Paradise Community Park, is a celebration of local pride and community spirit. The seasonal tradition features a farmer’s market, kids’ zone, live bands, arts, crafts and more.

To kick off the summer series, the chamber hosted its first “Open House Weekend” on June 1 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Paradise Community Park (located at 5570 Black Olive Drive in Paradise). The special edition of the Party in the Park featured a neighborhood festival to welcome new, prospective, current and returning residents, as well as informative booths connecting local businesses and organizations to community members.

Feather River Health Clinic renovation update

Adventist Health is nearing the completion of its $2.4 million renovation project at the Feather River Health Center on Skyway in Paradise. This transformative initiative aims to enhance healthcare services on the Ridge. Highlights of the renovation project include a dedicated Rapid Care Clinic and a remodeled lower level to increase provider capacity and patient access.

It will also allow for Women’s Health clinic services to move back into the Feather River Health Center to support accessibility of services in one convenient location. Additionally, Women’s Imaging services, including mammography and bone density tests, will return to the Ridge.

Pending industry-standard evaluation and approval from the California Department of Public Health, these new spaces are expected to welcome patients beginning in summer 2024.

Rapid care weekend closures

Due to staffing shortages, Adventist Health’s Rapid Care Clinic, located at 5125 Skyway in Paradise, is expected to be closed each weekend in June except for June 8-9. It is also scheduled to close at 3:30 p.m. on the following days: June 6, 13, 21, and 24-25. These closures are subject to change. However, if you need immediate medical attention during these time periods, please go to the nearest emergency department or call 911.

Adventist Health recognizes the impact that the clinic’s temporary closures have on the community, and we sincerely apologize for this disruption in care. We are actively working to stabilize hours at the clinic and look forward to providing updates to this community as we recruit and welcome new Rapid Care Clinic providers in the future.
