How Kinematic Knee Replacement Can Improve Mobility
Jul 27, 2026
Knee pain can make everyday activities feel harder than they should. For people living with knee osteoarthritis or ongoing joint pain, total knee replacement can offer a path back to greater comfort, mobility and quality of life.
In this video, Alexander Nedopil, MD, shares what patients can expect when preparing for total knee replacement at Adventist Health Lodi Memorial. Dr. Nedopil explains his approach to kinematically aligned total knee replacement, a technique designed to restore the knee in a way that more closely matches each patient’s natural anatomy and movement.
The video also walks through important steps before and after surgery, including preparing with your primary care provider or cardiologist, completing necessary testing, choosing a helper or “coach,” attending a class, using a special cleaning kit before surgery and understanding what recovery may look like at home.
Patients can also hear encouragement about the recovery process, including the importance of walking regularly, doing recommended exercises, elevating the leg to help with swelling and allowing the body time to heal before returning to more physically demanding activities.
If you or someone you love is considering knee replacement, this video is a helpful place to start. Watch to learn more about Dr. Nedopil’s approach to knee replacement care and how the team at Adventist Health Lodi Memorial supports patients in getting back to the things they love.
